FAQ

The questions coaches ask first

What Coach OS does, what it costs, what it touches, and how players get in. The short version is below.

Is Coach OS really free right now?

Yes. Coach OS is in free beta. You can build your academy, invite up to 25 players, log rounds, and use the full strokes-gained and practice-planning tools without a card. Billing arrives later, and beta coaches get plenty of notice before anything changes.

How do players get in? Can they sign up themselves?

Both. A player can create their own free account any time, but they only join YOUR academy when you invite them. As a coach you add a player by email; that invite shows up right inside their app (matched to their email) and is emailed to them, so they just tap Accept — no fiddling with links. You can still copy an invite link and send it however you like. Every player belongs to one academy at a time, so nobody ends up in the wrong place.

What is strokes gained, in plain terms?

Strokes gained measures each part of a round against a scoring baseline, so instead of just a score you see where shots were actually won or lost: off the tee, on approach, around the green, and on the putt. Coach OS scores every logged round this way and trends it over time, so you know exactly what to work on next.

What data does Coach OS store, and who can see it?

We store what the product needs to work: your account email, your academy and roster, and the rounds and stats your players log, plus lesson notes and practice plans you create. A player's data is visible to them and to the coaches in their academy. We do not sell data or use it for advertising. Full detail is on the privacy page.

Do players need the app, and does it work on a phone?

Players use the Coach OS player app, which is built mobile-first and installs to the home screen like a normal app. Logging a round takes a couple of taps on the course. Coaches use the dashboard, which is built for a larger screen where the roster and charts have room to breathe.

Can I cancel or delete my account and academy?

Any time. A coach can delete their academy, which removes all of its data and detaches its players (their own accounts survive and can be re-invited). A player can leave an academy or delete their account outright from the app. Deletion is real deletion, not a hidden archive. See the privacy page for what is removed.
